Our goal / purpose is to create ethical, sustainable, recyclable, and conscious clothing. Along the way we will support good causes while leaving a positive footprint on our beautiful planet. Miss Posh is meant to be an elevated fashion brand dedicated to the belief that luxury does not have to be unobtainable. Our mission is to bring high-quality, fashionable, and sustainable clothing for prices that are obtainable. We believe in being conscious of our footprint on the world, so all of our pieces will not only last you season after season but also make you feel great about your style as well!
We believe clothes should last longer, they should be made with purpose in mind, people should swap and trade clothes more, we should help the planet by manufacturing with more sustainable materials, not using chemicals, and using less water. We should also stop the use of all animal products and encourage others to do the same. We believe in reducing our footprint and building a better world.
Our commitment to sustainability
Miss Posh's mission is to instill confidence and empower women through fashion, education, and community. Miss Posh brings high-quality, innovative fashion to a wide range of women of all ages. We work hard to create pieces that are sustainable and contribute positively to the world around us. We try our best to only source from fair trade partners, use organic & recycled materials, and continuously push into an eco friendly manufacturing process.
Right now we're still small, so we still rely on other manufactures and partners and do our best to source sustainable and high-quality materials. Our process is still rigorous and we don't offer anything on our website that myself or my team doesn't wear and love themselves!
Our goal by 2023 is to own the entire supply chain process to exclusively offer only recycled and sustainable materials from verified fair trade partners. Your purchases allow us to reach that goal faster! Our commitment will always be to make you happy, feel confident, and continuously reduce our environmental footprint.
Here are the most important sustainable fashion trends for 2022:
-
Recyclable and biodegradable materials
-
Renting fashion
-
Fashion on demand
-
Local production
- Increased diversity and inclusion
- Upcycling
-
Product passports & transparency
Recyclable textiles
One of the biggest problems of the fashion industry is the throwaway approach to old clothes. The fast-changing collections of fast fashion companies and the low quality of their short-lived products have made fashion disposable over the last decades. Moreover, as our consumption patterns have roughly doubled since 2000, the fashion industry is now responsible for around 40 million tonnes of textile waste every year!
It’s therefore only natural that recyclable textiles represent a significant trend for sustainable fashion. After all, products made from biodegradable materials developed with recycling in mind can help limit raw material exploitation and reduce textile waste. In the long run, recyclable textiles could transform the fashion industry into a circular economy, making it much more sustainable and environmentally friendly!
Consume less, share and exchange with your girlfriends.
Another trend that counteracts the acquisition of new clothes and disposable fashion is renting and sharing clothes. In recent years, more and more start-ups, apps and platforms have emerged to help consumers swap and borrow clothes. Similar to a library, one can borrow clothes for a limited period of time instead of buying something new.
For special occasions, the system definitely makes sense. And based on the demand and hype, it’s definitely a trend that will stick with us for years to come. However, the system of renting clothes is not quite as circular, climate-friendly and sustainable as it seems.
Local production
Speaking of production, it is not only the “how”, but also the “where”. Ethical fashion should be both environmentally friendly and fair. We want to emphasise local production in family-owned or local companies with fair payment. Local production in fair facilities not only guarantees ethical working conditions but also reduces transport and the associated CO2 emissions.
As a result of the pandemic, the global production standstill and logistical problems that came with it, local production has taken on a whole new significance. We therefore believe that sustainable fashion trends and local production will go hand in hand in the future.
